Vinay Sawal

Vinay Sawal is a Senior Network Engineer at NERSC with over 20 years of experience designing and deploying distributed systems for private and hybrid cloud environments. He focuses on advanced networking solutions, microservice architecture, and multi-cloud strategies to build resilient, scalable infrastructures. His research interests include self-driving and self-healing infrastructure, autonomous systems, and the application of AI/ML.Before joining NERSC, Vinay served as a technical lead at Bell Labs, Cisco Systems, and Dell Technologies, where he architected IaaS and PaaS solutions for enterprise clouds. 

Vinay has a Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Arlington and holds over 100 patents in technology area including Networking, Cloud Deployment, AI/ML, and Data Center Infrastructure.
